One of the first big pieces of furniture I created. This is made up of over 100 pieces of both mild and galvanized sheet steel, concrete, multiple light sources and colored papers. I never had a chance to weigh it. I would estimate it at 3,000 lbs !
"The Chopper"
"The Chopper" “The Chopper” is my most prominent and involved piece to date. It is constructed entirely of found objects, primarily old farm equipment. That equipment includes a 1920’s Oliver hay press, horse-drawn hay rake, and a couple of swather parts and pieces. It weighs somewhere around 1 ton and measures almost 20’ long, the front wheel is 60” tall. “ The Chopper” maintains many of the functional aspects of the original equipment, with rolling wheels adjustable ride height, and a parking brake for good measure.

The "Chopper" will be going to the gallery this week! This piece is one of the most involved and larger scale pieces i’ve created to date. It is constructed primarily from old farm equipment collected around the area. I started with an early 20’s Oliver hay press, a horse drawn hay rake and some windmill check valves.

"Angst"
"Angst" Painted early in 2022. Covid craziness was still at a high, the war in Ukraine was just beginning, my personal life had changed in ways that I was not sure I loved. The general feeling was that of Angst and uncertainty about my life, life for my family and life for the world in general. Acrylic paint on canvas stretched over wood backing. 60”x48”

I was just learning to play guitar at this point in life and was very inspired by the shapes of electric guitars. I listened to a lot of Jimmy Hendrix in order to get this built.
